El Patron is lethal.

World Cup qualifiers weren't just taking place in Europe this week as Round 10 of the South American section got underway. As things currently stand, Brazil and Uruguay are leading the charge - no surprises there - but what's interesting is that Ecuador and Colombia are the remaining sides currently occupying the automatic qualification places, with Argentina facing an inter-continental play-off as things stand. Things are bound to change in the coming months, but it's safe to say that Bolivia won't be playing at Russia 2018 despite the fact that a brace from Pablo Escobar helped them secure a 2-2 draw with high-flying Ecuador. In doing so, Escobar became the oldest goalscorer in the history of South America's World Cup qualifying section. While we're fairly certain that his name is quite popular in South America, Narcos fans were having an absolute field day after hearing this news. To be fair, the 38-year-old hitman does play for a team called The Strongest and his first goal was an absolute peach. Even Murphy and Peña would applaud this hit. https://twitter.com/vxZoid/status/785952500553814016 Cue the inevitable jokes. https://twitter.com/NetflixLAT/status/785955679542489088 https://twitter.com/br_uk/status/785960845993922560 https://twitter.com/DanEdwardsGoal/status/785951427726237696 https://twitter.com/OnlyAnExcuse/status/785938237034561536 https://twitter.com/Munners_/status/785977354267009024 https://twitter.com/442weets/status/785982585239379968 https://twitter.com/TheFootballRep/status/785975433154162688 Oh, and Escobar's second was a pretty tidy strike too. Shame that Bolivia probably need to win at least five of their last eight matches to stand a chance of making the next stage. https://twitter.com/VarskySports/status/785946219222675456 FFL-new1
