Manchester United legend Edwin Van Der Sar is set to make a comeback

It's been five years since Edwin Van Der Sar called time on his playing career... or at least that's what we thought.
The Dutch goalkeeper, whose penalty shoot-out save from Nicolas Anelka earned Manchester United the European Cup in 2008, is set to make an unexpected comeback this weekend.
The 45-year-old Van Der Sar has agreed to make a one-off appearance for an amateur side VV Noordwijk after their goalkeeper picked up a knee injury at the weekend, according to Dutch outlet AD.
After that, it appears Van Der Sar will return to his current role as a director at his first club, Ajax.Explore more on these topics:
