It was reported over the weekend that two Premier League footballers are due to publicly announce they are gay.

They would be the first  players to do so while still playing top-flight football, and it is refreshing to see that the decision has been greeted with an overwhelmingly positive reaction. But it was still disappointing to see many people respond by beginning to speculate who the two players might be. Manchester United's Luke Shaw was a name that featured regularly, to the point where the 20-year-old felt the need to deny the suggestion on his Twitter page. https://twitter.com/LukeShaw23/status/657927753979793408?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw The two players are expected to make the announcement before the start of next season.
