Jose Mourinho would “love” to manage Manchester United, it’s been claimed

Barely 24 hours after being let go by Chelsea, Jose Mourinho is already being linked with a Manchester United move.

The story goes that Mourinho fancied the United job back in 2013 and was so disappointed that David Moyes was appointed ahead of him that he was moved to tears. But now, with his second stint at Stamford Bridge over, it's being suggested that Mourinho could yet become manager at Old Trafford. The Sun's Rob Beasley is known for his close connections with Mourinho and has interviewed him on numerous occasions. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Beasley now feels that a move to Manchester could be on the cards. "He'd love to manage United," Beasley explained. "The two clubs he always talked about were Liverpool, that's gone now, he would have loved to have gone up there and reawakened Merseyside and won the league with them. The other was Manchester United. "He thought - and Fergie thought - he was getting the job when Fergie was leaving, they had spoken about it. It seemed Fergie was setting Jose up to take over. But he ended up back at Chelsea. "Manchester United, he would love it. Imagine Jose Mourinho walking out in front of the Stretford End and giving them the pump fists... The fans would go mental!" With Louis van Gaal under increasing pressure at United, perhaps such a suggestion isn't so far-fetched
