Reports from Sanchez' homeland have now claimed that Mkhitaryan's willingness to move to The Emirates could prove to be a sticking point in the deal. Chile's El Mecurio report that the Armenian is reluctant to move to Arsenal due to Arsene Wenger's side being "low-level". If this is the case, it could - they say - allow City back in.
Of course, it isn't imperative to United that Mkhitaryan makes the move to Arsenal. They probably could cover the cost of the deal without him going in the opposite direction. But with Wenger recently stressing the need to bring in a replacement if either Sanchez or Mesut Özil were to leave in January, it might have helped get the deal over the line.
