Cesc Fabregas responds on Instagram after Pat Nevin apologises to him

Cesc Fabregas seems to want to move on from the recent wants to put the Chelsea rat rumours to bed once and for all.

Earlier in the season, BBC radio reported that one senior Chelsea player had admitted they’d rather lose than win for Jose Mourinho. The Secret Footballer later claimed that Fabregas was the rat, but later revoked the accusation, apologised and admitted he got it completely wrong. However, that didn't stop the story from gathering momentum as former Chelsea player and Chelsea TV pundit Pat Nevin was accused of restarting the rumour that Fabregas was the player in question. It was even being reported that the Spaniard may take legal action against Nevin for his comments. The Scotsman has since apologised on Twitter, and Fabregas has returned the favour with the following Instagram post:

I'm pleased that Pat Nevin and the BBC have now apologised and corrected their comments. I can reiterate that I had an exceptionally good relationship with Jose Mourinho as I will aim to have with any coach that I play for. The football club is more important than any one player. We have all let the manager and club down this year as a collective unit. We will get this right of that I am sure. With all your help we can put this period behind us and make @chelseafc great again.
