Big-spending Bradford set to sign Blackpool goalkeeper for a quid

Euro 2016 is al but over and with a good few weeks left until the football season starts, it's inevitable that the gap will be bridged by frenzied (and often wildly inaccurate) transfer gossip.
If we believe what we read, this summer could see in excess of £1bn spent on transfer fees. We might even see the first ever £100m player if the stories linking Paul Pogba with a return to Manchester United are correct. But not every side is willing or able to stump up such a fee. Over the Pennines from Old Trafford, Bradford City appear to be on the brink of making a signing for just £1. Yes, that's not a typo, £1 - a quid.
The man in question is Blackpool goalkeeper Colin Doyle, whose £1 release clause has been triggered by the Bantams. According to the BBC, Blackpool stuck this in his last deal with the club so the former Birmingham City keeper would have options if Blackpool were relegated.
The Seasiders were indeed relegated at the back end of last season - their second relegation on the spin - and will be playing in League Two when the new season kicks off.
Doyle is expected to have his medical this week. We doubt his agent will bother taking any 30% cut of the transfer fee on this one.
