In the wake of the departures of Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard, Philippe Coutinho has emerged as one of Liverpool's most important attacking players.

Reports in the Sunday Times suggest that Brendan Rodgers may struggle to keep hold of the Brazilian, with Barcelona having already registered their interest. Despite signing an improved contract to stay at Anfield until 2020 just last season, another year without Champions League football might well make the Brazil international consider his future on Merseyside.
