Arsenal seem to have broken an unusual rule during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City

Arsenal apparently broke a Premier League captaincy rule during the game, as they failed to nominate a skipper for the second half of the match. Laurent Koscielny was forced off at half-time, prompting panic among fans, and was replaced by Gabriel but it appeared as though nobody took the captain's armband from Koscielny after the break. Under Premier League Rule M.11, a captain must wear an armband at all times. Club captain Per Mertesacker is currently injured, and so too are vice-captains Santi Cazorla and Petr Cech. Koscielny wore the armband for the start of the game but failed to hand it off to a designated replacement captain for the second 45 however it seems like the Gunners will escape with no more than a slap on the wrist in the form of a reminder of the rule from the Premier League. A spokesperson from Arsenal told Sky Sports News that they were unsure whether an official captain was on the pitch in the second half but Theo Walcott was the senior player on the pitch. No harm, no foul.
