The extent of the injuries that caused Kevin De Bruyne to be stretchered off during Manchester City's League Cup semi against Everton have become a little clearer.

Having landed awkwardly, it has been revealed that the Belgian has problems with both his knee and ankle and is set to miss up to six weeks as a result. Despite the player telling supporters after the game that he expected to return for the final against Liverpool on February 28, his agent has revealed early scans suggest that he is set for a longer spell on the sidelines. Patrick De Koster, the player's agent, told Sky Sports: "He is a little bit sad because he has got a tear in his ankle and also the ligament in his knee are touched. I think for sure he will need six weeks of rehabilitation. "He is still going to do some more medicals today and at the end of the day I think, at least tomorrow morning, we will have the time he needs to be 100 per cent again."
