Authorities say that multiple people have died and at least nine people have been injured after a lone suspect opened fire at the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, international airport.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office tweeted the information and the gunman has since been detained. He is currently in custody and we're investigating," Sharief said. Investigators are looking into the suspect's motive" they said.
