Police share new details after celebrity arrested on suspicion of rape after attending Fury fight

New details have been revealed

The Sun reports that the unnamed star, who is said to appear regularly on TV, was arrested as he prepared to watch the fight from the VIP area.

The man, who is in his 30s, was held suspicion of the rape and sexual assault of a female in North London earlier this year.

He has since been bailed.

The outlet reports that police knew the celeb was going to be in attendance at the Fury fight, and had planned to arrest him there.

It is reported that he was arrested around 8pm as the undercard fight got underway.

“The star turned up and was in an exclusive area of the ground with friends, when he was nicked," a source told The Sun.

“It was a targeted pre-planned operation and he was stunned.

“Some people saw it but the police were trying to be discreet.

“It was over an allegation from earlier this year.

“It was a surprising swoop.

“The police spoke to him to explain the arrest, before leading him away for questioning.

“It obviously meant he missed the whole event.”

A spokesperson for the Met Police said there was an arrest at Spurs stadium in relation to alleged sexual offences that occured in Golders Green in January.

In a new statement shared with Metro, the Met said: "A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent on Saturday, 11 April.

"This relates to sexual offences which reportedly occurred at an address in Golders Green in January.

"A female victim is being supported by specially trained officers.

"The man has been released on bail as enquiries continue."
