The Beverly Hills, 90210 star has died five days after suffering a stroke

American actor Luke Perry has died following a stroke he suffered less than a week ago. His publicist said Perry died surrounded by his family and friends. Perry is best known for his role as Dylan McKay in Beverly Hills, 90210 and had most recently been starring as Fred Andrews on the Netflix show Riverdale. He was taken to hospital on Wednesday in Los Angeles where he had been filming Riverdale at a Warner Bros studio. “[Perry] was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends,” his publicist said in a statement. “The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
