First trailer for JAY-Z’s Trayvon Martin docu-series has arrived

Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story is set to premiere in July. Produced by JAY-Z, the first trailer for the docu-series that takes a deep look at the controversial case involving slain teen Trayvon Martin has now been released by Paramount. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhd-9IpEIJY Integral in launching the Black Lives Matter movement, the case saw 17-year-old Trayvon Martin shot dead by George Zimmerman, who was later acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter, claiming he acted in self-defence despite Martin not possessing any weapons. Serving as Executive Producer on the docu-series, JAY-Z has long made it clear that he wants justice for Trayvon Martin and even made a surprise appearance at the peace walk in memory of the young teenager on February 9th in Florida. Praising the teenager’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, JAY-Z said: "We want to make sure that we stand and support and never forget that Trayvon serves as a beacon of light to the people out here. So you guys will never have to go through the pain and hurt that these guys went through."
