David Letterman hosted his last ever show on Wednesday night after a send-off as protracted as Steven Gerrard's.
Countless tributes have been pouring in for the legendary TV host, with colleague and friend Conan O'Brien even urging viewers to switch over from his own show to Letterman's farewell.
