It's all anyone has been talking about since the fifth season of Game of Thrones drew to a close, but now it seems we finally know the fate of Jon Snow for certain.

The character, played by British actor Kit Harington, appeared to die at the end of season five. But conspiracy theories have abounded ever since, with hints dropped and clues found by fans wherever they looked. We could never be sure, though. Until now. Here's your spoiler alert - it would be irresponsible of us not to give you fair warning so close to the start of the new season. harington-1024x512 Network HBO have confirmed Jon Snow is dead, in a press release to mark the start of the sixth season this month. It seems they're not having us on - it's laid out there, plain and simple, with multiple outlets confirming the revelation. So, unless there's some resurrection theme running through the next few episodes (and we're not ruling it out), that might just be that. Still, given the many ways Game of Thrones has shocked us over the years, and given the cryptic comments made by Harington himself not that long ago, anything could happen. Game of Thrones season six premieres on HBO on April 24.
