Fair warning: This article contains Marvel spoilers
Elizabeth Olsen has claimed that she never met a certain Multiverse of Madness star - despite exchanging dialogue with him in the film itself.
When a movie is called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, you know things are going to get confusing. It seems Olsen isn't immune to said confusion, as seen recently when she appeared in Vanity Fair's latest edition of their lie detector series.
The 33-year-old actress was asked, “is this man is the smartest man on Earth,” alongside an image of Reed Richards, also known as Mr Fantastic, who appears - albeit briefly - in the new Marvel film.
Portrayed by A Quiet Place star and director John Krasinski, the stretchy superhero's screen-time was relatively short-lived.
Here's where things get extra confusing and extra-spoilery.
In Multiverse of Madness, Krasinski's Mr Fantastic belongs to the Illuminati, a Marvel secret society who are responsible for many questionable things in the comics. In the film, its ranks are comprised of Mr Fantastic, Captain Marvel, Black Bolt, Captain Carter, Mordo and Professor Xavier.
While Olsen's Scarlet Witch is on a rampage, she comes across the Illuminati and talks at length with Krasinski and then... well, some things happen - but we'll wait for you to see the film before discussing them openly.
However it raises the question: if they spoke and fought, how come Olsen doesn't remember meeting Krasinski?
“I don’t know him," she explained. “I don’t think so. No, I’ve never met him. I’ve never met that man. I’ve met his wife.”
While the video was only uploaded two days ago, confirmation of Krasinski's involvement was not confirmed until the film's release. With Marvel's famed army of lawyers on standby, Olsen presumably looked to succeed where so many of her co-stars had failed by keeping the movie's secrets on-screen.
Olsen also offered insight to Cinemablendand revealed how she never met the Illuminati thanks to "movie magic."
