He's had a tough time

Alex has enjoyed a difficult spell during his time on Love Island. Since the day he entered the villa it has seemed like he was being overshadowed by the other guys, whether or not that's right. He's had his time with Samira, which ended in friendship, and he's had his time with Ellie, which ended in tears. Thankfully, since the new girls entered the villa he has had his fair share of choice, and can reinvent himself anew.
