Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny have secured back-to-back promotions for the club.

The Welsh outfit were lingering in non-league when the American duo took over in 2020. Not since 2004-05 have the club tasted third-tier football.

Wrexham convincingly secured promotion on Saturday afternoon winning 6-0 against Forest Green. Star striker Paul Mullin secured a brace at The Racecourse Ground.

After last year's promotion to the Football League, the pair were visibly moved during the promotion celebrations. Many fans questioned the integrity of the move at first but it has proved to be a roaring success.

After last year's triumph, Reynolds told BT Sport:

"One thing that's running through my head over-and-over again is people said at the beginning: 'why Wrexham, why Wrexham?' this is exactly why Wrexham.

"What's happening right now is why."

McElhenney, speaking about the crowd, said: "I think we can hear how it feels to the town and that's what's most important to us.

"I think this is a moment of catharsis for them and celebration and for us to be welcomed into their community and to be welcomed into this experience has been the honour of my life."

Parties will go on long into the night in north Wales as fans look ahead to moving up the divisions. Can Wrexham repeat the fate next year?
