He’s not always everyone’s cup of tea, but there were a lot of people more than happy to see Cristiano Ronaldo lift the European Championships trophy following their extra-time victory over France on Sunday night. Ronaldo’s contribution to the match itself was limited after he was withdrawn from the fray with an injury in the first half, but he still managed to be the centre of attention as he cajoled and encouraged his teammates from the sidelines until victory was assured.
