The ‘biggest fight in boxing’ hasn’t even been scheduled yet

For years upon years, the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao held the unofficial title of the biggest fight to have never happened.
But since the pair met in the 'fight of the century' last year, that title has now arguably gone towards the long-anticipated bout between Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Golovkin's upcoming bout with Dominic Wade gives undefeated Kazakh Golovkin a chance to extend his professional record to 35-0. Meanwhile Mexican middleweight Canelo, whose only career defeat came against Mayweather in September 2013, is currently preparing to take on Amir Khan in Las Vegas in May.
GGG's promoter Tom Loeffler has already suggested the 34-year-old has a written agreement in place to take on the winner of Khan-Canelo.
And Loeffler has now come out and said "If a fight does happen GGG v Canelo it’s the biggest fight in boxing."
"We hope it happens, we can’t speak for Canelo and speculate what's going to happen," Loeffler explained in an interview with EsNews.
"The WBC order is clear," he added, "The winner [of Khan-Canelo] has to fight Gennady or they risk getting stripped of their title."
