Statistics prove Old Trafford is English football’s most boring stadium this season

Old Trafford is known as The Theatre of Dreams for good reason.
The home of the 20 time English champions witnessed some brilliant players and teams in the past and fans in attendance were never short of entertainment. However, it's been a slog this season. Louis van Gaal is under intense pressure as his side flounder on the pitch, dropping to sixth in the league after a run of eight games without a goal. At the half-way point of the season, United have scored just 10 goals at home, conceding three - the lowest number of goals scored at a ground in England, across the four professional divisions, this season.
The most goals scored at home Premier League grounds have come at Everton and Manchester City, with 41 a piece.
For goals scored by the home team across the leagues, United are joint 82nd with 10, with strugglers Aston Villa bottom with just six goals at Villa Park.
To put the lack of goal action at Old Trafford in context, in the 2012/13 season - Alex Ferguson's last in-charge and United's last title-winning campaign - it took just four games to see 13 goals at the famous ground.Explore more on these topics:
