Very interesting.

Former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand will attempt to become a professional boxer, as reported by The Telegraph. Ferdinand is expected to announce this at a “major news announcement” that will take place on Tuesday afternoon.  The BBC and BT Sport pundit will be hoping to emulate Curtis Woodhouse, the former Sheffield United striker who ultimately became the British light-welterweight champion. On Instagram, the 38-year-old has previously jokingly called out Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, David Haye and Tony Bellew. Since retiring from football, Ferdinand has kept himself in incredible shape and previously said that gym work has helped him cope with the heartbreaking death of his wife, Rebecca, after her battle with breast cancer. If the former Leeds United and West Ham defender is to box professionally, he'll need to obtain a licence, but it's clear that he's getting prepared ahead of his boxing debut.
