Premier League ‘fair play’ table revealed as three clubs still have no red cards

One major side sits at the top, whereas another is at the bottom

As per the excellent Transfer Markt, sides have been based into three categories: yellow cards, two yellows turning to a red, and straight reds.

A yellow card is worth one point on the board. Two yellows is worth three points on the board. A straight red is five points. So, who is the most disciplined team, and who is the least? Let's find out.

1. Arsenal 49 points

The Gunners are one of three Premier League sides this season to have 0 red cards. With remarkable defensive discipline and David Raya winning the Golden Glove once more, Mikel Arteta's side have also managed to keep 11-players on the field at all times. They've also had 49 yellows, the least of any side in the division.

2*. Liverpool 59 points

In joint-second are Arne Slot's Redmen. Ten points clear of Arsenal, they are the joint second most disciplined side in the division. They've had 54 yellow cards and one straight red, accumulating a total of 59 points. That red came after a lengthy VAR check in the final moments of the Man City Anfield clash, where Dominik Szoboszlai was judged to have denied Erling Haaland a clear goalscoring opportunity.

2* Leeds United 59 points

Not only have Daniel Farke's boys comfortably stayed up, they have done it with serious discipline along the way. With 56 yellow cards and only one second yellow for Gabriel Gudmundsson in the goalless draw at Crystal Palace, The Whites are joint 2nd in the table. Farke was sent off himself though in the City home defeat, stating after he'll have to stop jogging on the pitch when confronting the referee!

2* Aston Villa 59 points

Villa also rank joint 2nd in the table. Exactly like Liverpool, they've had 54 yellows and a straight red. That red came all the way back on the opening day of the season, as Ezri Konsa was given his marching orders after a clear foul on Anthony Gordon in the goalless 0-0 draw v Newcastle United.

5* Manchester City 63 points

Here come the second team in the league without a red to their name. City have had 63 yellow cards, though no player has been given their marching orders. Fans were left on the fence after Bernardo Silva lashed out at Nathan Collins only this weekend though, and was only given a yellow.

5* Nottingham Forest 63 points

Forest have also accumulated the same points as City. They've had less yellows with 58, but a direct red card after Neco Williams' challenge late in the first half at home to Crystal Palace.

7* Brentford 70 points

Up considerably from 63 points are Keith Andrews' Bees. Despite 65 yellows and a straight red, the European hopefuls still got the job done on the day they were down to ten. Kevin Schade was sent off for a 'horrific' kick out at Matty Cash, though Dango Ouattara bagged the only goal of the game just minutes later. The 8th-placed Prem underdogs then held on 1-0 for a priceless three points at fortress Villa Park.

7* Newcastle United 70 points

Eddie Howe's Toon Army are on 70 points too. The Magpies have had 59 yellow cards, two yellows turning into a red, and a straight red. Dan Burn, Jacob Ramsey and Anthony Gordon have all been given their marching orders over the campaign. Gordon's straight red was the most notable, after an on-field VAR review showed he lashed out at Virgil van Dijk. A 3-2 away win thriller endured, as Rio Ngumoha announced himself to the world.

9* Burnley 71 points

In joint 9th are The Clarets. Under the stewardship of Scott Parker for the majority of the campaign, they've had two straight reds and a double booking turning into a red. Lesley Ugochukwu was given his marching orders for a late second yellow at home to Liverpool, before a last gasp Mo Salah penalty sealed the points after a Hannibal handball. Lucas Pires was sent off for a last man challenge at Newcastle United, whereas the same occurred for Josh Laurent late on at Fulham.

9* Man United 71 points

With the exact same record as the Clarets are Michael Carrick's Manchester United. 58 yellows, one double booking and two straight reds. Casemiro was sent off for two yellows in the first-half against Chelsea, though Ruben Amorim's side at the time still managed to win 2-1 after a defiant second-half display. Harry Maguire was then sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity at Bournemouth, with the last decision a famous Lisandro Martinez red for pulling Dominic Calvert-Lewin's hair in the 1-2 defeat at home to Leeds.

11. West Ham 75 points

The first side of the bottom half is the Hammers. The Irons have had 62 yellows, one second yellow, and two straight reds. Jean-Clair Todibo received his marching orders for violent conduct on Chelsea's Joao Pedro, whereas Tomas Soucek was sent off for a horror challenge at home to Spurs. The most famous one of the season came when Lucas Paqueta was awarded a second yellow for complaining to the referee in the 2-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.

12. Crystal Palace 76 points

Next up is Oliver Glasner's European finalists Palace. The Eagles have been booked 68 times, with one second yellow and one straight red. Maxence Lacroix was given his straight marching orders, whilst conceding a penalty after pulling Matheus Cunha back in the box at Man United in March. Adam Wharton was then brandished a second yellow for a challenge on Moises Caicedo at home to Chelsea.

13. Fulham 78 points

In 13th come Marco Silva's mid-table Cottagers. Only receiving one straight red after Joachim Andersen last weekend against Bournemouth, they are no stranger to a yellow, with 73 cards brandished.

14. Everton 83 points

David Moyes' Toffees have enjoyed a stellar season, looking set for the top half of the table after recent campaigns of relegation worries. Regarding straight reds though, they've had the most so far in the list, with three. Michael Keane and Jake O'Brien have been given direct marching orders, though no one will forget the third one, Idrissa Gueye's red for going at Michael Keane at Old Trafford. A resilient outfit though, they then still defeated United with 10-men, courtesy of a Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall pearler.

15. Brighton 86 points

Lastly, the final of the three teams to not have received a single red on the pitch is Brighton. The Seagulls have had 86 bookins, with the only red being gaffer Fabian Hurzeler serving a two-match touchline ban. Brighton's discipline during games has helped propel the club up to 7th in the league, with another European adventure nearly on the cards.

16. Wolves 87 points

It's been a torrid time at Molineux this campaign, with Rob Edwards' Old Gold relegated after eight years back in the top flight. They've had three reds over the entirety of the campaign too. Emmanuel Agbadou was given a direct red in the first-half of a 3-0 defeat at Fulham, with Toti sent off just after half time in a narrow defeat at Bournemouth. Ladislav Krejčí was then given a harsh second yellow for delaying the restart in a 1-0 loss at Crystal Palace, where Evann Guessand subsequently bagged a last minute winner.

17* Bournemouth 93 points

Bournemouth have had their fair share of yellows and reds. With 83 yellows brandished, only three clubs have seen more in the league. The Cherries have had two reds too, including Ryan Christie's straight red at Fulham last weekend. Thankfully for Andoni Iraola's European hopefuls though, Joachim Andersen made it evens only several minutes later, before Brazilian star Rayan secured the three points after half-time.

17* Sunderland 93 points

Sunderland have had a phenomenal first season back in the big time. Though, they've had to take yellow cards here and there to survive comfortably with 78 brandished. As for straight reds, Regis Le Bris' side haven't been shy either, with three given. Most recently, The Black Cats were reduced to 10-men after a Dan Ballard hair pull at Wolves. Hoping to secure three points at Molineux after an early Nordi Mukiele opener, The Old Gold salvaged a second-half point courtesy of Santiago Bueno.

19. Tottenham Hotspur 106 points

The first side with over 100 points on the points table, Spurs have had the most bookings in the league with a massive 88. Cristian Romero shares the title for most yellow cards in the league, racking up a whopping 11. The Argentinian skipper has also had a straight red at Old Trafford, alongside teammates Xavi Simons and Micky van de Ven who were sent off against Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

20. Chelsea 109 points

Well-known for their red cards this campaign, The Blues have had four straight reds, three second yellows and 80 singular yellow cards. Moises Caicedo has been given his straight marching orders, as has Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez and Trevoh Chalobah. As for second yellows, the guilty parties include Wesley Fofana, Pedro Neto and Malo Gusto.
