Boxer Nick Blackwell has taken to social media to thank fans and peers for their support during his time in a coma.

The 25-year-old, who was unconscious for several days following his title fight with Chris Eubank Jr in March, said he has been "very lucky" to have begun his recovery from bleeding on the skull. He also paid his respects to those, such as David Haye, who have helped raise money since he was placed in intensive care following the Wembley Arena bout. The tweets echo Blackwell's first public message since awaking from his induced coma, and confirm that he is on the road to recovery. Many from across the boxing world have paid tribute to Blackwell's strength, with Eubank Jr pledging to pay his opponent a visit in person. https://twitter.com/nickblackwell02/status/721952307076796416 https://twitter.com/nickblackwell02/status/721952653555712001
