Memphis Depay admits he’s struggling to adapt to the pace of English football…

It's clear by now that Memphis Depay needs time to adapt to the Premier League.
The Dutch winger has started every league match for Manchester United so far this season, but has scored only once and completed 90 minutes on just three occasions. The 21-year-old has also lost possession more than any other player with three or more top-flight starts, underlining his struggles to make an instant impact - unlike Anthony Martial. It seems to be the physical aspect of English football that has posed the biggest problem for Depay, with the forward telling the Dutch media this week: "In Manchester I play a lot of games. There are very few days that I can rest out.
"On training days you are mainly concerned with conditioning. It’s heavy, two games a week, always at a high level. Because of that, my body still has to get used to it all."
However, Depay also says he's happy to have made to move to United.
"I try in my career to take many steps. I think this was the right step, and am happy in Manchester."Explore more on these topics:
