Mbappe insists he’s “happy” at PSG but fails to distance himself from Real Madrid links

Kylian Mbappe insists he is 'happy" at Paris Saint-Germain but failed to completely distance himself from rumours that he could leave the club next year amid links to Real Madrid. The talented youngster became the first France player in 36 years to score three goals or more in a competitive game as he bagged four goals in Didier Deschamps' side's 8-0 win over Kazakhstan on Saturday to clinch their spot at the 2022 World Cup. Prior to the match, the 22-year-old was speaking about his relationship with PSG - discussing "five extraordinary years" in the French capital. However, Mbappe - whose contract at Les Parisiens expires next summer - failed to talk about anything beyond the end of the current campaign, with speculation around his future continuing to increase. He told Brazilian TV: "I have spent five extraordinary years here, I have taken advantage of every moment and I continue to do so. I am happy both on the pitch and in my personal life. "Now there are many things, great challenges and I have already spoken about that." The former Monaco frontman was then pressed by the TV reporter about his future at the club and his plans beyond the current season. Mbappe remained coy with his response, adding: "I'm here, I'm still here, I'm here this season." According to EPSN, Madrid made a world record bid believed to be in excess of €200million for the Frenchman in the summer, which reportedly received no response from the Ligue 1 club in the closing hours of the transfer window. The Spanish giants' approach led to PSG sporting director Leonardo calling for Madrid to be punished by the authorities over their pursuit of the forward.
