Matthijs de Ligt has provided an update on his fitness amid not featuring for Manchester United in five months.
A Red Devils regular before his injury, the Dutchman was hopeful to play at the World Cup, however has now since confirmed that that is unattainable.
Featuring 13 times in the Premier League before his injury, De Ligt was a prominent part of United's first-half of the season.
Now, he has broken his silence, after undergoing treatment.

Taking to Instagram, he addressed United and Oranje fans, confirming that his will miss the World Cup, though he is on the road to recovery:
‘After 6 months of treatment and working hard to get back, surgery was the only option left. I’m disappointed i couldn’t help the team the last 6 months and obviously missing out on World Cup but I’m looking forward to doing everything to get back in front of the fans and feeling better again!'
