Man Utd Women to play first Super League game with fans at Old Trafford

Manchester United Women are set to play their first Women's Super League game in front of fans at Old Trafford next year. United are scheduled to host Everton on 27 March 2022, with the men's team not in action until the Sunday. The Red Devils played West Ham at Old Trafford during the 2020/21 Super League campaign - securing a 2-0 win - but coronavirus protocols meant that the game had to be played behind closed doors. The women's team usually play their games at Leigh Sports Village, an arena that holds 12,000 spectators. Manager Marc Skinner has claimed that it is a 'fantastic milestone' for the women's team, thanking the fans for their continued support. "This is a really exciting opportunity and a fantastic milestone for this team to play in front of thousands of fans," he said."We are so thankful for the continuous support they have given us and I hope they turn out in numbers and get behind the team for what will be a really special moment."

They are also unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, progressing in the FA Women's Super League Cup thanks to a penalty-shootout win over Durham.
The Reds travel to tenth-placed Everton on Sunday, with the Toffees having lost four of their opening six WSL matches.
