Manchester United fans are fuming at a very glaring snub in the FIFA voting system

Manchester United fans are not happy.

While it's nice to be acknowledged by your peers, we're certain that most footballers don't particularly care about being shortlisted or nominated in these various FIFA/UEFA lists of the world's best player, striker, defender etc. Ultimately, footballers at the very top level are only concerned with one thing, winning. They know that they can win a match in an instant and that's what sets them apart from the rest. Cristiano Ronaldo may have come away with the top accolade, but some very questionable votes were cast. On this note, Manchester United fans were left flabbergasted after David De Gea received no votes in FIFA's 2017 Best Goalkeeper award. Last season, the Spanish 'keeper only conceded 29 league goals - that's the second best defensive record in the Premier League - and yet the Manchester United shot-stopper was overlooked in that particular category. Gianluigi Buffon won the award with 42.42% while Manuel Neuer claimed second place with 32.32% Elsewhere, Real Madrid's Keylor Navas finished fourth with 10.10% of the votes while Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois registered  9.09% of the overall tally. Despite the fact that seven names make up the joint-ninth position on 0%, the former Atletico Madrid player isn't featured. Somehow, the error-prone Claudio Bravo did enough to make the list along with Man City's new 'keeper, Ederson.
