Deadline day proved to be an uneventful one for Manchester United.

Despite reports claiming Riyad Mahrez's representatives tried to force a switch from Leicester to Old Trafford, such a move failed to materialise. However, it was confirmed on Sunday that United had managed to add another player to their ranks - exciting youngster, Arnau Puigmal. Described by reports in his native Spain as 'the star of Espanyol's academy', it was claimed as far back as May that United had agreed a deal for the 16-year-old midfielder. Having now received international clearance, Puigmal shared an image of himself signing a contract with the club on his Instagram account. 'Very happy and proud to announce that I am a new Manchester United player,' the accompanying caption read. 'A dream come true. It's time to work, come on red devils!'
Puigmal has been with Espeanyol for seven years and is understood to have impressed United officials with his performances for the Barcelona-based club's Cadete A side. Clearly, it's unlikely that the midfielder will appear for United's first team any time soon. Along with former United striker Andy Cole, Puigmal can also be seen posing in his Instagram post alongside the club's Under-18 coach, Kieran McKenna.
