Man United close in on a new defender

It's all happening at Manchester United's Carrington training ground today.
Anthony Martial isn't the only highly-rated teenager set for a move to Old Trafford - Newport County prodigy Regan Poole is also poised to join the club. Poole, 17, will sign for a fee in the region of £400,000, according to the Daily Mail.
The youngster has played in four of Newport's five League 2 games this season, as well as featuring in their League Cup defeat to Championship side Wolves.
He made his County debut last season, just two months after his 16th birthday.
Poole, who has also reportedly been tracked by Liverpool, spent a week on trial with United before making his bow for the Welsh club.Explore more on these topics:
