Chelsea legend John Terry has made his first foray into the world of football of ownership after buying a stake at an EFL club, according to a report in The Sun.
Terry made more than 700 appearances for the Blues in a trophy-laden playing career in west London, that lasted 14 years and saw him win multiple Premier League trophies and the Champions League.
Despite his reputation as one of the most successful English footballers of all time — Terry has expressed the desire to build a post-football career in coaching, but even after assistant roles with Leicester City and Aston Villa — the 45-year-old has so far been unsuccessful in securing a first managerial role.
It now appears that John Terry has shifted his ambitions away from football management, and towards ownership, following news he is in the process of formally becoming co-owner of an EFL club.

Per The Sun's report, John Terry is just days away from officially announcing himself as owner of Colchester United FC, a current League Two outfit.
Terry has joined as part of £14 million consortium buying the EFL club.

The impending deal comes after another former Chelsea player, Alexandre Pato had also made an attempt to but the club, before talks ultimately fell through.
An inside source familiar with the deal is reported to have told The Sun: “JT is really excited for it to become official.”
