Ireland's hopes of reaching a World Cup semi-final for the first time were dashed by Argentina, but it wasn't for a lack of commitment.

The Pumas may have outplayed them over the 80 minutes, but the Irish left everything on the field after almost engineering the biggest comeback in World Cup history. Perhaps no one embodied Ireland's fighting spirit more than Leinster winger Dave Kearney. The younger Kearney brother suffered a dislocated his finger late in the first half. But rather than leave the field, he simply had it popped back into place and strapped up. https://twitter.com/eannaaah/status/655727526208229376 Unfortunately it wasn't enough, as Argentina ran in a handful of late tries to claim a famous 43-20 win.
