Our new JOE Win/Draw/Lose game is live, and in only its second week, just one player came agonisingly close to taking home the jackpot of £1,000!
A whisker away, one player correctly guessed nine of the ten matches, with just one result letting them down. An elite effort in a gameweek littered with upsets, that stumped almost everyone.
Last week's Premier League action turned out to be a brutally unpredictable matchweek, with the scores in just four of the ten matches being successfully predicted by the majority of players.
Beginning at Villa Park, on the back of the Villains' 2-2 draw with already relegated Burnley last week, just a fifth of players estimated that Unai Emery's side would manage to beat Liverpool, especially with the club's European final just days away, with 44% going with the Reds, and 35% guessing a draw.
Another major shock was the fixture between Everton and Sunderland at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Just 10% of players predicted the correct result: a 3-1 win for the Black Cats. More than half (56%) had actually gone for an Everton victory.
Another major shock was Bournemouth's 1-1 draw with Man City on Tuesday.
More than 86% of players expected Pep Guardiola's side would take the title race to the final day, and 11% guessed a draw.
Lo and Behold, Iraoloa's men did the job, and handed the Premier League title to Arsenal.
Top work from those 11% who guessed that turn of events!
It was much the same story for the games between Brentford and Palace, and Wolves and Fulham. In each, the majority went with the wrong result, summing up a tough week.
Players were more successful across the remaining four matches however, with 82% correctly calling Man United's triumph over Nottingham Forest, in Casemiro's final appearance at Old Trafford.
It was the same case for Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Burnley, the game that ultimately won Arsenal the title was predicted by a whopping 89% of players.
Players also narrowly predicted Newcastle's win over West Ham (36% to 35% for a West Ham victory) and Chelsea's win over Spurs (50%).
Overall, it was those shock results from underdogs Aston Villa, and of course Bournemouth, that cost the majority of players a successful week.
Almost unbelievably however, this week's best performing player guessed all of the above, even that unlikely Man City draw.
Rather than the Liverpool defeat, or the Chelsea's victory over Spurs — the Blues first victory in five — the player was let down by his prediction of Leeds' clash with Brighton, going for a draw instead of a victory for Daniel Farke's side.
Regardless of how it ended, still a sensational effort from Joshatron1205, who climbs to fourth in the overall rankings, across the past two weeks.
Also this week, eight players managed to get seven scores right, but no one matches Joshatron1205's 9/10.
We go again next week!
