He compared time under Amorim and Michael Carrick.

It's fair to say life under Michael Carrick has improved Man United, with the club now sitting pretty 3rd in the table and Champions League qualification nearly secured.

Goals from Casemiro and Benjamin Sesko against the Bees sealed back-to-back victories for the Red Devils and a priceless 2-1 result.

Now 11 points clear of Brighton in 6th, with five PL clubs set to qualify for the UCL next season, Carrick has completely turned it around.

With Brentford almost clawing it back towards the end of the game, Maguire made note of the difference between the Portuguese gaffer Ruben Amorim and Carrick, speaking to Sky Sports:

"We had two tough fixtures when Michael first came in," Maguire told Sky Sports. "I think everyone was probably looking at them thinking, 'Oh no', with Arsenal and Man City, and we managed to get the six points.

"Everyone's believed in it, and we've gathered together. We've got the confidence. We know that we can score goals from anywhere.

"The results speak for themselves. Since the manager has come in, and the formation has changed, we just seemed to pick up results.

"I think that the games previous, when Ruben was here, the games were fifty-fifty. But we always ended up on the back of a defeat."

"Now it seems like it's the other way around, where we're a lot better in both boxes," he added.

"We defend our box a lot better, and we're managing to be clinical in the other box."

“Now it seems like it’s the other way around, where we’re a lot better in both boxes. We defend our box a lot better, and we’re managing to ‌be clinical in the other box.”
