Romelu Lukaku reveals he idolised Brazilian striker Adriano as a child

Romelu Lukaku has already scored 24 goals for Manchester United.

The latest came on Saturday, as he swept home a Juan Mata cross with his left foot to give Jose Mourinho's side the lead against Huddersfield Town. As pointed out by Sport Witness, Lukaku's interview with ESPN Brasil - given entirely in Portuguese - also aired over the weekend. In it, he spoke of his love of Brazil, explaining that he relates well to the country's people and has a fondness for Brazilian food - especially feijoada, which he names as his favourite food. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Lukaku also added that he looked up to Brazilian footballers as a child, naming former Internzionale striker Adriano as an "idol". "I really like Brazilian players," he said. "When I was little, Adriano was my great idol. Because I had the same qualities as him. "[He was]Very strong, shooting with the left foot was the same. I hope he’s going to play again because he’s a good player. For me he’s an idol. I like him a lot." Adriano was one of the most feared strikers in world football during some of his time at Inter. After returning to Brazil in 2008, he failed to return to the kind of form he showed in Milan.
