Newcastle fans utterly dejected after Daniel Sturridge deal falls through at very last minute

Daniel Sturridge will seemingly not be moving to St James' Park after all. The Liverpool striker, linked with moves to Inter Milan and Sevilla in recent weeks, looked set for a loan switch to Newcastle United on Monday. A report in The Times claimed the club would cover his £120,000-a-week wages and fork out a £1.5m fee so that the England international spent the remainder of the season in the North East.
