David Moyes ‘unlikely’ to stay on as West Ham manager past the end of the season

David Moyes' managerial future is once again looking uncertain.

The West Ham manager, who had managed to steer the club out of the relegation zone after taking over from Slaven Bilic, is reportedly likely to leave the club at the end of the season when his six-month contract expires. Their defeat to Brighton at the weekend left them just three points off the bottom three, with Matt Law writing in The Telegraph that the club are likely to look at a new permanent manager to take charge during the summer - regardless of whether they remain in the Premier League or not. Rafa Benitez is said to be one possible candidate, with his future at Newcastle dependent on whether Amanda Staveley’s takeover bid is successful. Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner is also said to be another possible appointment, along with the recently-dismissed Watford boss, Marco Silva. Law also adds that there have been 'tensions behind the scenes' at West Ham after the club failed to bring in Moyes' key transfer targets in the January window. Islam Slimani was one of those strongly linked with a move to the London Stadium, only for Leicester to reportedly refuse to negotiate a deal with West Ham after comments made about their owner by Karren Brady.
