Feyenoord's Cuddly Toy Day is a wonderful tradition

For a number of years now Feyenoord have invited patients from a local children's hospital to a home match, where they are sat in one of the De Kuip stadium's lower tiers. Prior to the match, opposition fans are encouraged to bring cuddly toys to the match, before showering the children below with said toys. During their recent Rotterdam derby with Excelsior in the Eredivisie, the away fans did just that. As the clock struck 19 minutes, the away supporters launched cuddly toys to the stand below, where children from the Erasmus Sophia Hospital were sitting. It was a lovely scene and one which meant that the game's three goals - from Feyenoord's Robin van Persie, Jeremiah St. Juste and Jan-Arie van der Heijden - are unlikely to live as long in the memory. https://twitter.com/Feyenoord_int/status/1031251005785231362 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl2y0cyLRrM
