Falkirk forward gets hefty ban for mocking opposition player over missing eye

Falkirk forward Kevin O'Hara has been suspended for eight games for mocking an opposition player over his missing eye.

During Falkirk's 2-0 Challenge Cup victory over Dunfermline last month, O'Hara is said to have abused opposition midfielder Dean Shiels for the eye which he had to have removed as a child. O'Hara has been found guilty of "excessive misconduct" at the Falkirk Stadium, having reportedly made comments about Shiels, who lost his right eye following an accident when he was eight years old. "I think there were maybe some poor remarks made towards Dean," Dunfermline manager Allan Johnston said after the game. https://twitter.com/ScotlandSky/status/928619324331511808 Shiels was sent off later in the game for a challenge on Falkirk's Joe McKee while McKee has also received an SFA notice of complaint about "excessive misconduct" in the same match and will appear before the SFA next week. A Falkirk statement reads: "The club take note of the decision made by the Scottish FA Judical Panel and are in the process of requesting the written reasons. No further comment will be made at this time."
