Jose Mourinho's Chelsea exit has perfectly straddled the line between shock and knowing acceptance.

It has looked for weeks as though the manager was on borrowed time, but we just weren't sure Roman Abramovich was going to pull the trigger. But looking back through Chelsea's earlier updates, should we have spotted something amiss? moutraining Many members of the first team squad visited the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to pay a surprise Christmas visit to poorly youngsters. John Terry was there, along with the likes of Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Willian, Pedro and a host of other first-team stars. But Jose? Nowhere to be seen. It was obvious had we put the pieces together sooner.
