It seems like an age since Brendan Rodgers became the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season.

The Northern Irishman parted ways with Liverpool back in October after the Merseyside Derby, but he is reportedly being lined up for a return to the top flight in the summer. The Sunday Express report that the 43-year-old will return to former club Swansea City in the summer, four years after leaving the Liberty Stadium for Anfield. And, with current Swans boss Francesco Guidolin among the leading contenders to replace Chelsea-bound Antonio Conte in the Italy hot-seat, the time seems right for Rodgers to go back to south Wales. Reading v Swansea City - npower Championship Playoff Final Rodgers spent two seasons in charge of Swansea after spells with Watford and Reading, leading the club to promotion at the first attempt. He helped solidify the Swans' position in the Premier League before jumping ship for Anfield, bringing the likes of Michel Vorm and Gylfi Sigurdsson to the club. If his reported return does materialise, Rodgers will be reunited with a number of his former charges including Sigurdsson, Ashley Williams and Angel Rangel.
