Hopefully the situation is now under control

Following the cancellation of Manchester United's game with Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, after the discovery of a 'suspect package' in the NW quadrant of the ground, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a 'controlled explosion' has been carried out within the stadium. https://twitter.com/gmpolice/status/731869564909277184 With the stands safely evacuated of supporters and officials, and the media later told to leave - which saw Sky Sports' pundits analyse the day's results from the forecourt - the bomb disposal unit were called in to carry out the security operation. The GM Police confirmed via their Twitter account:
'Latest update: A controlled explosion has just been carried out within the stadium by bomb disposal experts at Old Trafford. More to follow.'
