Having eventually terminated his contract with the Serie A club, Cole made the move to California, signing a contract with LA Galaxy.
He remains with the Major League Soccer club but, as his Twitter feed showed on Saturday, the eight-hour difference isn't enough to stop him keeping up to speed with his last English club, Chelsea, as they took on Tottenham.

Cole knows all about rivalries with the White Hart Lane-based club, having started his career at Arsenal before moving to Stamford Bridge. So, when a Spurs supporter tried to take the piss out of the former England international after Chelsea's 2-1 triumph over Mauricio Pochettino's men, he was never going to pass up on the opportunity to fire back.

Looking at the Premier League table now, it's hard to argue with Cole's response: Spurs sit in fifth, seven points behind table-topping Chelsea who have amassed 31 points.
However, there is a long way to go and should Spurs turn things around, you can guarantee there'll be plenty of Spurs fans reminding Cole of this very tweet when May rolls around.
