Speaking on Las Voces del Fútbol radio programme, the midfielder said that he hoped to play for Boca Juniors at some point in his career.
"At some point I would like to play in Boca," he said. "I hope I can achieve that dream I have."
Torreira has been playing in Europe since leaving Montevideo for Pescara in Italy in 2013. He later signed for Sampdoria two years later but was loaned back to Pescara for a further season.
Torreira made his first start for Arsenal during their Europa League opener against Vorskla Poltava at The Emirates Stadium on Thursday night - a game the home side won, 4-2.
Argentina's Boca Juniors are arguably the biggest club in South America and have recently been the subject of a new Netflix documentary series, Boca Juniors Confidential.
