The first half of Manchester United against Liverpool was not the most inspiring, giving some creative types time to work on something new.

But even that doesn't quite explain Adidas' response to Daley Blind's opening goal. With the tagline 'Make a splash when it matters', the clip shows a computer-animated version of the Dutchman riding a dolphin across the Old Trafford turf. Why a dolphin? Don't ask us. https://twitter.com/adidasUK/status/642754256655675393 We can't work out what came first, the dolphin or the splash. Does it even matter? The responses were as expected, if anything can truly be "as expected" when it involves a Dutch footballer riding a dolphin. https://twitter.com/AndrusGuardudo/status/642755097018114050 https://twitter.com/JNorman_FFC/status/642754837977939973 https://twitter.com/CarefreeDaily/status/642757190126862336
