Former One Direction member and music star Zayn Malik has been hospitalised as singer gave a health update and thanked a cardiologist.
The singer revealed the news on his social media this evening (17 April) showing him hooked up to a number of machines in a hospital bed.
The update follows on from a cancelled Q&A at Circuit, Kingston, which he said was due to illness.
At the time he shared a message to his social media which read: "‘I’m really sorry, but unfortunately I am sick, and I won’t be able to make it to the UK this week as planned."
Now, the 33-year-old has provided an update, as he wrote: "To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always – it’s been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering.

"Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding."
He continued: "Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends!"
The singer did not confirm why he had been admitted to hospital, although he did thank a cardiologist whose job, as per the NHS website, is to "diagnose, assess and treat patients with defects and diseases of the heart and the blood vessels, which are known as the cardiovascular system."
He is yet to comment further.
