Keir Starmer is in trouble.

There's no ifs or buts about it.

Not only is Keir Starmer in trouble but Labour as a whole are in trouble. In fact, Labour are expected to have their worst London election in over 50 years in the coming weeks, as more and more people turn to Green and Reform.

Calls for Starmer to resign largely centre on broken cost of living promises, unpopular fiscal decisions hitting ordinary people hardest, a serious lack of leadership charisma, and of course, the Mandelson appointment.

It certainly isn't looking good.

JOE recently took to the streets to ask people whether Keir Starmer should resign and one woman we interviewed summed the whole thing up quite perfectly.

Speaking to JOE, she said: "On the principal I think he should resign. I don't think there's anyway of getting out of that. He came in on the ticket of clearing up politics but now it just feeds into the narrative that all politicians are a bit dodgy and that power corrupts.

"I can't say that I ever really trusted Keir Starmer right from the beginning because he doesn't have the kind of left politics that I have.

"A lot of people have lost their confidence in Keir, not necessarily on this issue (the Mandelson appointment), I think it was a lot to do with the cuts to the welfare state that he first made when Labour came into power and on issues like Gaza as well.

"There's a lot of people who fell out of love with Labour and a lot of my friends and colleagues and comrades gave up their membership of Labour and moved over to the Greens."
