US woman thought she’d won a prize in her granola bar…it was cocaine

Homenews

If you're a 90s kid you'll remember those little blue packets in Walkers crisps that contained a cash prize.

What a time it was to be alive. One US woman could be forgiven for thinking it was her lucky day when she found a mystery packet covered in dollar signs in her granola bar. Cynthia Rodriguez thought she'd won a prize, and was pretty bloody excited about it. But instead of a $20 note, a trip to Disneyland or golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, the 60-year-old was told by San Antonio police that the white powder was in fact cocaine. Still - it's not to be sniffed at (sorry). Makers Nature Valley don't know how the drugs got into the packaging, but police are investigating. (H/T Independent)
